Job Description
AERIUM Analytics Inc. is currently seeking to fill the following role:
Vegetation Management/Environmental Field Assistant (EFA)
Responsible for assisting Herbicide Technician and daily field activities including inspections, briefing, execution, debriefing, chemical mixing, spraying and ground/flight safety. VM/EFA serves as Assistant to our Certified Applicator/Authorized Assistant.
The VM/EFA must be able to work approximately 14-21 days on / 7 days off basis from May 15th until September 15th, 2024, in Northern Alberta/Northern BC.
Transportation will be assigned to each crew for each trip, this is a yearly recurring opportunity between May 15th– September 15th.
Potential contract extensions from September 16th to May 14th can be discussed and will be dependent on the project load with AERIUM Analytics Inc.
We Provide a living allowance when not in camps, overtime rates, 12-hour days, there is limited cell service in work areas, and travel all over Northern AB and BC.
Help execute vegetation management program for multiple clients, identifying invasive plants (training provided), applying herbicides safely, following all label and applicator instructions, operating UTV sprayers, backpack sprayers, and other equipment necessary for vegetation management control.
Job Type: Contract
Contract’s duration: 4 months approximately.
Additional Consideration: A negative drug and alcohol test is required before the start of employment.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Work with your hands
Be able to carry 50lbs
Drive truck and trailer
Run equipment (UTV, winch, sprayer)
Filing reports
Strong communication skills
Able to work under pressure
Valid Class 5 Driver's License
Bonus skills:
Authorized assistant certificate
Herbicide applicator certificate
Previous experience or education in environmental, forestry, agricultural and land reclamation is an asset
CPR & First Aid, UTV safety course, Bear Aware, H2S Alive, WHMIS, and other field associated safety trainings
Farm or backwoods experience
